Science and business converged at BIO24 in San Diego
Last week, hollandbio – together with Health~Holland – stood up for the Dutch biotech sector by hosting a big bright orange pavilion in the United States. With over 19.000 attendees, this was the largest west-coast edition of the Biotechnology Innovation Organisation International Convention aimed at converging science and business from the global biotechnology field.
The Dutch biotech sector kicked off BIO24 with a welcome reception on Sunday, specially organized for the over 100-strong delegation from the Netherlands. On Tuesday, the Dutch pavilion drew a lot of attention with its annual bike raffle, which awarded a lucky winner with a brand new Dutch bike sponsored by Loyens & Loeff. The raffle was accompanied by the reception on the Dutch pavilion, where guests were given a taste of the Dutch biotech industry.
On Wednesday, during the global innovation hub presentations, hollandbio’s Wieteke Wouters explained why the Netherlands has Europe’s most attractive business climate for biopharmaceutical companies. It was a memorable and successful week for the orange biotech team. Hollandbio hopes to see you all at next year’s edition in Boston from June 16 to 19 2025.
