HollandBIO welcomes ShanX Medtech as a new member

HollandBIO connects, represents, and supports companies and initiatives within the Dutch life science sector. We are very proud that we already represent over 260 companies: from start-ups to large companies and everything in-between, active in the health, food or biobased economy. Late last year we welcomed ShanX Medtech! ShanX Medtech is an Eindhoven-based startup developing antibiotic efficiency testing diagnostic devices aiming to help doctors prescribe the correct antibiotic, with Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) forming their first indication.

In the Netherlands alone, over two million people visit their family doctors with symptoms of a Urinary Tract Infections every year. Providing correct antibiotic care is crucial for achieving the best patient outcome, yet antibiotic efficacy testing still remains a challenge today.

ShanX Medtech is developing a first-of-its kind antibiotic efficiency testing device that can deliver results within 4 hours. ShanX’s innovation enables, same-day, evidence-based, and personalized antibiotic care whilst combatting the public global health issue of antibiotic resistance which is partially caused by injudicious antibiotic administration.

ShanX Medtech was established in April 2019 and has received several regional, national, and European Grants as well as equity-based investment.
