Following the success of previous editions, hollandbio is organizing the fourth edition of Biotech for a Sustainable Future 2025 on Tuesday, September 16 (Prinsjesdag), 2025, in Woerden. This annual event has become the go-to meeting place for everyone working on a sustainable future in plants, food, and materials through biotech.

This year’s theme is ’Power to the partnership: alone we go fast, together we go far.’

Collaborations are key to turning biotech innovations into real-world impact. But what does it take to build a successful partnership? What can we learn from frontrunners who’ve cracked the code? During the afternoon, we’ll hand the mic to several biotech pioneers who are doing just that:

  • NoPalm Ingredients collaborates with various partners to develop sustainable alternatives to palm oil, primarily using fermentation technology to produce oils and fats from agricultural waste. Their approach not only reduces deforestation and emissions but also opens the door to circular, scalable production.
  • KeyGene (a global leader in crop innovation) and Chiquita (a leading banana company) will offer insights into their Yelloway partnership, diving into the research and development of a disease-resistant banana variety while reducing carbon emissions. Their collaboration helps shape the future of agriculture, from root to result.
  • ChainCraft and Avebe showcase a unique industrial collaboration that creates a circular, low-waste process through the power of biotechnology. Discover how this partnership turns potato juice by-products into high-value ingredients for a more sustainable future.

And as always, there will be plenty of networking opportunities.
