Get ready for the fifth edition of hollandbio’s Biotech for a Sustainable Future – now renamed Biotech for a Future-proof Planet 2026 – on Thursday, 1 October 2026, in Woerden. This annual event has become the go-to meeting place for everyone working on biotech solutions in plants, food, and materials. 

This year, entrepreneurs, policy makers, investors and stakeholders will come together to explore the financing landscape for future-proof biotech solutions. From venture capital and corporate venturing to public funding, this session will discuss what it takes to turn promising innovations into real-world impact.

Speakers:

1. Ferdinand Los, CEO of Hudson River Biotechnology
Successfully raised funding in 2024. He will share about the role different types of investors can play in a biotech company’s growth, and how increasing acceptance of new genomic techniques (NGTs) is opening up new opportunities for scaling his innovation.

2. Victor Meijer, Investment Principal Agrifood at Invest-NL
Head of the Capital Agrifood-team, responsible for all Invest-NL investments in agrifood. He focuses on startups and scale-ups with new technologies in alternative proteins, functional ingredients, and technologies enabling a transition to a (more) regenerative agriculture.

3. Guillaume Baxter, Partner at Sofinnova
Focuses on investments in industrial biotechnology, food, and agbiotech. He will share about his work backing entrepreneurs that use science and innovation to reinvent traditional industries and advance the transition to a more sustainable economy.
