Zo wilde het Amerikaanse life sciences tijdschrift <em>The Scientist<\/em> wel eens weten wat er in Nederland is veranderd sinds de verhuizing van het Europees Medicijn Agentschap (EMA). Om een tipje van de sluier op te lichten: hier heerst \u201cthe right biotech spirit\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Belangrijk voorbehoud: veranderingen n\u00e1 de komst van het EMA, komen niet per se d\u00f3\u00f3r de komst van het EMA. Wat <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-scientist.com\/bio-business\/biopharma-looks-to-the-netherlands-as-european-hub-68356\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">het artikel<\/a><\/strong> wel mooi laat zien: al die tijd heeft Nederland gezorgd voor een gespreid bedje voor de life sciences. Ons land heeft z\u2019n zaken goed voor elkaar en is \u2013 zeker met hoofdstad Amsterdam \u2013 sociaal aantrekkelijk. We spreken een aardig woordje over de grens en ook buitenlands talent is hier meer dan welkom. Bovendien is de Nederlandse (kennis)infrastructuur meer dan goed op orde, wat maakt dat de sector kan floreren en industrie zich hier graag vestigt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De komst van het EMA valt\u00a0simpelweg samen met een tijd waarin de Nederlande biotech sector zich sterk ontwikkelt: \u201cThe biotech sector in the Netherlands [has] grown up the last few years,\u201d zegt onze eigen Annemiek Verkamman. \u201cA couple of years ago, a lot of people were in early phases, maybe clinical Phase 1. And now we see the first Dutch biotechs really deliver a product to the market, which is of course a real milestone.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dat het EMA zich in Nederland heeft gevestigd, benadrukt dus de goede reputatie die we al hadden en die ook steeds sterker wordt. Het heeft ervoor gezorgd dat de industrie naar Nederland kijkt. \u201cNow, the Netherlands is on the map\u201d, zo concludeert HollandBIO\u2019s Annemiek in het artikel.
