Het dashboard laat zien dat, \u00a0zelfs al voor de coronacrisis, de toename van het aantal scale-ups in Nederland tot stilstand is gekomen,. Ook de doorgroei van startups naar scale-ups stokt. Hoog tijd dus om doorgroei te bevorderen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aan het eind van 2019 telt het Dashboard in totaal 3040 scale-ups in Nederland, maar de groei neemt voor het tweede jaar op rij sterk af. Ook de doorgroei van startups naar scale-ups staat onder druk: in 2016 was het aandeel van scale-ups jonger dan vijf jaar 12,3% van het totaal; in 2019 is dat nog slechts 9,7%. E\u00e9n van de belangrijke oorzaken volgens het onderzoek: structurele snelle groei is een te grote opgave voor veel scale-ups, zij lopen meestal vast in een tweede \u2018Valley of Death\u2019.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Martin Luxemburg, Directeur Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship, benadrukt dan ook het belang van een stevig Nederlands scale-up klimaat: \u201cHet scale-up klimaat in Nederland vraagt continue aandacht. Scale-ups zijn de motor van de economie; ze zijn verantwoordelijk voor het merendeel van nieuwe banencreatie, wat nu meer dan ooit nodig is. Niet alleen nationaal, maar juist ook regionaal en lokaal.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Kansen om start- en scale-ups in de life sciences te laten groeien en bloeien<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Een aantal bevindingen in het dashboard zitten op eenzelfde lijn als het eerder gepubliceerde onderzoek van HollandBIO <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollandbio.nl\/nieuws\/van-nederlandse-topkennis-naar-een-life-sciences-ecosysteem-van-wereldklasse\/\">\u2018Van Nederlandse topkennis naar een life sciences ecosysteem van wereldklasse\u2019<\/a><\/strong>. Nederland heeft een uitstekende kennispositie op het gebied van life sciences, maar deze vertaalt zich onvoldoende in bedrijvigheid en productontwikkeling.
