We  represent 200 companies in the field of medical, agrifood and industrial  biotech. And, HollandBIO is growing steadily. Today, we are proud to  announce that Oncode joined the HollandBIO community! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oncode\nwants to drive breakthrough innovations in the diagnosis and treatment of\ncancer. The ultimate goal is to enable patients to survive cancer, improve the\nquality of life for those affected by cancer and contribute to a more\naffordable health care system. To put it simple: outsmarting cancer, impacting\nlives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To do so,\nOncode has joined the forces of over 800 molecular cancer researchers in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oncode.nl\/research\/groups\">62 research groups<\/a> across 12 universities and research\ninstitutes in The Netherlands. Our scientists work under a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oncode.nl\/research\/strategy\">common strategy<\/a>, with six defined research themes.\nWe break with the competitive model of science and facilitate collaboration\nbetween scientists and with the private sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Societal\nand economic impact is a critical component of Oncode\u2019s unique approach. We\nwork hard to make sure that new findings from the lab, find their way to\npatients in the most optimal way. Academic research results manifest themselves\nas intellectual assets in the form of people, scientific publications,\nknow-how, data, research tools, biological materials, software and inventions.\nOncode aims to accelerate the development of such discoveries into clinical and\neconomic benefits. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their\ndedicated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oncode.nl\/about\/our-valorization-support-team\">team of business development\nspecialists<\/a>\nforms a single point of contact for both our research community and the life\nscience ecosystem in The Netherlands and abroad. We aim to create value for the\nDutch life sciences sector by investing in the development of new technologies\nand products, building close interactions with industry to develop durable\npartnerships, attract international investments and research funding and by\ncreating, growing and retaining oncology companies in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oncode is\nfunded by the Dutch Cancer Foundation, together with the Dutch ministry of\nEconomic Affairs &amp; Climate Policy, the ministry of Education Culture &amp;\nScience, the ministry of Health, Welfare &amp; Sport, Health~Holland, NWO and\nZonMw with a total of \u20ac120 million until 2022. This long term funding allows\nour scientists to take steps into uncharted territory and start high risk \u2013\nhigh gain projects.
